Vehicle Interference/Damage

Vehicle Interference/Damage

Dear Resident

Vehicle Security Alert

Between 10/10/2026 and 11/10/2026, a number of incidents involving interference with vehicles were reported in Stanborough Ward and Woodside Ward.

Overnight, four vehicles in Stanborough Ward and two vehicles in Woodside Ward were interfered with by unknown offenders. At this stage, it is unclear whether anything was taken from the vehicles.

As the evenings become darker, please take extra care to secure your vehicle and reduce opportunities for thieves.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.

Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area.

If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
